As the principal museum of the University of Cambridge and the largest cultural venue in the region, The Fitzwilliam Museum acts as a crucial bridge between the University, the City and the rest of the world, and has an international reputation for extraordinary research, world class exhibitions, award-winning public programmes and significant collections spanning many cultures and centuries. The Fitzwilliam Museum collection comprises 500,000 objects, displayed in galleries or housed in storage. The Hamilton Kerr Institute (HKI) is one of the world's leading centres for teaching and research in conservation and heritage science.

The Collections Access & Logistics Manager will be responsible for ensuring sustainable, effective and efficient movement, installation, storage, care and documentation of the collections, managing a newly unified team of skilled collections management staff and a Study Room Coordinator. The role-holder will take responsibility for and manage storage, display, movement and documentation of items for study, research, exhibitions and loans. This work will play a critical role in supporting access, research, teaching and public engagement around the collection, supporting Mission aims and strategic priorities.

We are seeking someone who has extensive experience of working with relevant collections, and in designing and managing access and logistics with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
