Aged 18 to 25 and living in Cambridge? Want to explore art and culture in new ways? Keen to find out about The Fitzwilliam Museum and what it can do for you?
We are looking for an energetic team of creative producers to join us for a new project at The Fitzwilliam Museum to explore the themes of sex, power, and gender in Venus and Mars, a painting by 15th century artist, Sandro Botticelli.
As a creative producer on this project you will:
· Work together to explore how we experience art in museums.
· Get behind-the-scenes access to Botticelli’s Venus and Mars.
· Co-curate an event at the Museum with a team of other young creative producers on the project.
· Learn new skills, share, and test your ideas.
· Work with museum staff and local artists.
· Find out about creative careers in culture, the arts, museums, and heritage.
· Receive a bursary of £120 for your input and ideas. (We can also fund your travel if necessary).
· This project will inform a PhD study as part of research initiative exploring young peoples’ experiences of art in museums.
Timeline
· Apply here by 22nd December 2023.
· Come to an informal interview in January 2024.
· Come to six sessions between February and May 2024. Sessions will be on Wednesday afternoons at The Fitzwilliam Museum. You can catch up if you miss a session.
· Launch your event in May 2024.
