Animals in Art

Following the Government announcement yesterday, museums and galleries in Cambridge will be closed to the public as part of a period of national/local restrictions. So, with great sadness, we will not be able to reopen as planned on 2 January 2021.

Session Description

Come visit the world’s exotic beasts in the Fitzwilliam Museum’s galleries. Imagine if the animals in the collection were part of a huge parade – what a noise, what a spectacle, what wonders!

Contact us on 01223 332904 or email to book, or to discuss your needs.

Format of the session

The museum-led session is scheduled for two hours and is delivered in the first sixty minutes of your booked slot.

We recommend that schools use their second hour for follow-up time from the taught session.

'Pupils loved the building and the gallery talks – they are excited about the museum and I think that some will definitely try and visit again. They have a broader understanding of animals in art, appreciate what they can gain from a museum visit and have gained even more enthusiasm for the subject.' – KS1/2 Teacher
