Colour and Culture

Following the Government announcement yesterday, museums and galleries in Cambridge will be closed to the public as part of a period of national/local restrictions. So, with great sadness, we will not be able to reopen as planned on 2 January 2021.

Session Description

Explore colour and pigments within the collection in relation to different art-historical periods. Use artworks to map the story of how colours were found, made and used.

Contact us on 01223 332904 or email to book, or to discuss your needs.

Format of the session

The museum-led session is scheduled for two hours and is delivered in the first sixty minutes of your booked slot. We recommend that schools use their second hour for follow-up time from the taught session.

See also our Fact Sheet on Colour and Culture across our collections.

You can also book a studio workshop related to this theme.
