Portraits

Following the Government announcement yesterday, museums and galleries in Cambridge will be closed to the public as part of a period of national/local restrictions. So, with great sadness, we will not be able to reopen as planned on 2 January 2021.

Session Description

What do portraits tell us about people, who they are and what is their character? How do artists show differences between people and what they are feeling?

Contact us on 01223 332904 or email to book, or to discuss your needs.

Format of the session

The museum-led session is scheduled for two hours and is delivered in the first sixty minutes of your booked slot. We recommend that schools use their second hour for follow-up time from the taught session.

See also our Fact Sheets about Portraits.

You can also book a studio workshop related to this theme.

'I really liked looking at the paintings, and I now look at art in a different way. The Museum teacher made it very easy to understand and it was so fun!' - KS2 pupil
