The Real Me

Following the Government announcement yesterday, museums and galleries in Cambridge will be closed to the public as part of a period of national/local restrictions. So, with great sadness, we will not be able to reopen as planned on 2 January 2021.

Session Description

What do portraits tell us about people, who they are and their characters? How do artists show differences between people and what they are feeling? Discuss who controls and creates images. How would you want to be seen in the future?

Contact us on 01223 332904 or email to book, or to discuss your needs.

Format of the session

The museum-led session is scheduled for two hours and is delivered in the first sixty minutes of your booked slot. We recommend that schools use their second hour for follow-up time from the taught session.

For a self-led (DIY) session (DIY resource), we recommend you spend up to one hour delivering your do-it-yourself session.

See also our fact sheets about portraiture in our collection.

You can also book a studio workshop related to this theme.

'The pupils were able to think about art and images in different ways, and it was helpful in encouraging the pupils to think about what is in front of them more critically.' - KS2 teacher
