Marking 40 years of Art Fund's partnership with the Wolfson Foundation, the Art Fund is profiling in film four key acquisitions made possible through their joint funding. Episode two looks at five works by Sir Stanley Spencer acquired for the Fitzwilliam Museum, and introduced by our Keeper of Paintings, Drawings and Prints Jane Munro.

The paintings are on display in Gallery 1 until the end of March after which the University Library will borrow Spencer's compositional study of 'Builders of the Tower of Babel' for an exhibition there from April to September 2018. This was the destination for which Spencer originally planned the work, however the scheme was never carried out.
