The Fitzwilliam Museum is taking part in a nationwide programme of in-conversations, exhibitions and events with Art Fund support to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Royal Academy of Arts (RA).
The Royal Academy is run by artists and architects – the Royal Academicians – and exists to promote the practice, appreciation and understanding of art. For the Fitzwilliam Museum’s collaboration in RA250, we are working with seven Royal Academicians who have connections with Cambridge and the Fitzwilliam in some way. We asked them to identify a work or works in the collection that has inspired them, and to explain why.
Follow the University of Cambridge Museum's blog for more of an introduction to the project, and artists' posts over the coming months.
