We are delighted to tell you we will be reopening to the general public on 11 August. Prior to this, we will have a reopening for Museum Staff, Volunteers and Board Members on 4-5 August, with Friends and Marlay Group members also invited to visit from 6 August. Our reopening week will give us an opportunity to road-test our new ticketing and safety arrangements.
Visitor numbers will be limited to promote effective social distancing and to keep everyone as safe as possible. Entry will still be free, but timed tickets must be booked in advance.
Our Director, Luke Syson, said:
I’ve been enormously grateful for all the support we’ve received at the Fitz during lockdown. We’ve been able to improve what we do on line and there’s more to come. But without doubt - we’re excited to get back in the building and to be welcoming visitors again. Looking at art isn’t a luxury, it’s an essential. Art doesn’t really come alive unless we’re there to see it. Welcome back!’
