β: This is a Beta release of the Fitzwilliam Museum's potential new website.
We want to co-design
our Virtual Museum presence with you.
You can return to our current site at any time.
Museums and galleries in Cambridge will be closed to the public as part of a period of national/local restrictions.
Following the Government's announcement about a roadmap out of lockdown, we are starting to work towards reopening on Tuesday 18 May 2021.
Once we are open you will be able to see our new exhibition The Human Touch, which we had originally planned to open on 6 January. Until then you can discover the work of Italian-born street artist Giacomo Bufarini, known as RUN, who has created two bold and colourful wall murals for the exhibition. One of the murals can be found in the museum while the other is situated at Parkside Pool in Cambridge. We spoke with RUN to find out about the inspiration behind his works and to better understand his practice. Read the interview.
Please look after yourselves and each other - we look forward to seeing you back in the Museum in May.
