Discover the fusion of art, technology and international trade that pushed the boundaries of enamel decoration in China from the 1600s.

From plates and perfume bottles to teapots and tableware, take a closer look at intricately detailed, technically innovative and visually striking enamelled art objects and find out how this skilled artform was elevated to new heights.

An Enamel Revolution explores the ways Chinese workshops developed new techniques for enamelling objects made of porcelain and glass, as well as copper.
