Writing in Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean

Following the Government announcement yesterday, museums and galleries in Cambridge will be closed to the public as part of a period of national/local restrictions. So, with great sadness, we will not be able to reopen as planned on 2 January 2021.

Discover a variety of ancient writing systems used in the eastern Mediterranean, including a famous bilingual inscription from Idalion, Cyprus.

This display is the result of a collaboration between the Fitzwilliam Museum, the British Museum, and the research project, Contexts of and Relations between Early Writing Systems (CREWS).
