Kyoko Takemura
PhD Student
Kyoko Takemura is an AHRC-funded Collaborative Doctoral Partnership (CDP) student in History of Art with the University of Cambridge, in partnership with the Fitzwilliam Museum, the Hamilton Kerr Institute and the National Gallery.
Kyoko received a BA in History of Art from the University of Tokyo, Japan, where she also completed a MA in History of Art. In 2023, she graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma in Conservation of Easel Paintings (now a MA) from the Courtauld Institute of Art.
Kyoko's research will focus on decorative punch marks which are typically seen in the gilded backgrounds of the early Italian paintings through the application of 2D and 3D digital imaging techniques.
She is supervised by Dr Lucy Wrapson (Hamilton Kerr Institute), Dr Donal Cooper (University of Cambridge), and Dr Marika Spring (National Gallery).
